Same to you! Here's to 2021.
Sorry I haven't been active around here. Lots of projects going on, so kind of slipped my mind. How was the Apollo league?
Got my rig set up for flying at the moment, so haven't been in the rallies for a while. Looks like there's a new Tomcat campaign in DCS, looking forward to checking that out (after reading the Chuck guide). Just brushed up on the Hornet too, so lots of stuff to remember.

I retired without even a race lol. The repair spots were something like 5 or 6 stages apart. Which would be fine if tire popping wouldn't be so suspect at times in DR2. I don't mind slogging through a stage or two tops with no tires on, but if something stupid happens I'm not going to waste my time slogging through 4 stages and I'm fairly certain I'd have wheel failure about half a mile from the finish of that last stage. Their rules that work fine when you allow all assists, which they do, but not so much if you are trying to actually race. I've been meaning to get some flying done, lots of plane stuff I've bought the last year and never even tried out. P-47, channel map, Tobruk, now the second part of Flying Circus while still never once playing anything on Flying Circus. I was waiting on the bombers for that and the HP is in it so will get to that once it's released. No worries overall though, you got stuff to do, you got stuff to do. I've been biding my time on the exercise bike, although the weight has been ticking back up, not down lol.
Anyway, I'd be up for a flying night sometime, maybe, I dunno, to be honest I'm admittedly a little flaky when it comes to flying, most of the time the issue is just not really wanting to take the time to get everything set up, but I will sometime I think! maybe!

Yeah, having the repair stops ever 2 or 3 stages was nice. I was happily surprised if I managed to get past a stop with only minor repairs, but then I'd usually bin it in the next stage. Having to get through half a dozen with no repairs would certainly change the risk to reward ratio. I also prefer minimal assists, so perhaps not my cup of tea anyways.
I've definitely got lots of stuff to play around with too, plus I want to take a look at BMS 4.35. Looks like a minor update on the player visible side, but hopefully the rewrite for DX11 will bear more juicy fruit relatively quickly.
Might be tricky to pin down a time to fly together, I usually just boot up a sim if/when I get time. That was the beauty of the DR2 leagues for me, is I could jump on anytime. Maybe something to look at in the new year though.

Yeah, I never seem to get around to flying anyway, which is also why I liked the DR2 league, do it whenever you have time. Apparently we're the weirdos for only doing that stuff when we have time instead of scheduling things out lol. We'll see what this year brings, EA bought Codemasters, so should be interesting to see what the future holds.
